Rabbi Simon & Sarah Mandel
Chaplains: Sarah and Simon Mandel (and Gila, Yonatan, Chana and Liora) Welcome to the Academic Year 5772, If you were here last year you might remember us. If you were not, or your summer was really that good, allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Simon and Sarah Mandel and we are the Jewish chaplains here in Cambridge. You can check out our website at www.camchap.weebly.com. For those who dont really know what the word chaplain means (including myself!), our role is to support you in your time here. Usually that means having you round to our house and feeding you lots of food, as well as being an educational resource and making sure that the concerns of Jewish students are appreciated by the university. But we are also here to offer support and guidance if things are not going well, and you should feel free to call us whenever you want. We have four little assistants whose names are Gila, Yonatan, Chana and Liora. They are half Israeli and half English, so dont be surprised if they pull your hair and then apologise. I would really like to get to know you all so dont be too surprised if you get a call or email from me inviting you out for a drink. In the meantime we live at 6 Alpha Road - feel free to pop in anytime to introduce yourselves, and for up-to-date information on all our events check out our website www.camchap.weebly.com Wishing you an enjoyable and successful year ahead, Kol Tuv Sarah, Simon, Gila, Yonatan, Chana and Liora Weekly Events Food For Thought, Mondays 7.00pm, Jewish Student Centre Come and try your hand at learning traditional Jewish texts. Both Sarah and I would love to learn with you on an individual basis, just get in touch with us. |
